gtd healthcare nurses have attended an awards ceremony to receive the Queen’s Nurse title.

Claire Mann, joint head of nursing and allied health professionals and safeguarding children's lead, and Jayne Mennell, Katie Schofield and Lisa Welsh, clinical services managers, attended the Queen’s Nursing Institute Awards in London to mark this significant achievement.

Jayne said it was an honour to receive the Queen’s Nurse title and be surrounded by colleagues who were also being recognised.

“The event was amazing and I’m glad I had the opportunity to experience it,” she said.

Andrea Handley, director of nursing and allied health professionals, said this recognition reflects the dedication and leadership of our nurses.

“As the number of Queen’s Nurses within the organisation grows, their success sets a strong example for others, and we are excited to continue building on our commitment to excellence in patient care and nursing practices,” she said.

Nurses, health visitors and midwives who have five years’ experience of working in the community and demonstrate a high level of commitment to patient care and nursing practice are eligible to apply for the title of Queen nurse.

The title is not an award for past service but indicates a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership. Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity.
