Staff have been commended for their dedication to innovation, excellence and quality.

The 2024 Quality Improvement Awards highlighted the incredible contributions of staff who have driven forward initiatives that benefit patients, staff and the community.

Eight projects were showcased as posters at head office on 28 November, each aimed at improving care. Authors of the projects were available to discuss their work, offering insights into how best practices could be shared and implemented across the organisation.

From advancements in digital front-door platforms to developing audit tools and creating a pharmacy team, the projects demonstrated the positive impact of innovation.FINAL graphic.jpg

Dawn Sewards, gtd healthcare's director of governance, said all the projects are exceptional.

“The awards were inspiring to learn about the variety of initiatives and the innovative approaches staff are using to improve care and make a real difference in people’s lives,” she said.

“This is the kind of energy that will continue to push the organisation forward in delivering the highest standards of care.”

The judging panel, consisting of non-executive directors and directors, had the difficult task of reviewing the projects. They engaged with the authors to understand the projects in more detail before casting their votes for the winner and runners-up.

Dawn added: “All projects were excellent, making the decision-making process more challenging. After careful consideration, we all agreed on two runners-up and one winner, each representing the very best of what the workforce can achieve.”
