Measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations have been offered to students at universities across Manchester via a mobile van.

The initiative, which is being operated by Specialist Services, aims to prevent potential outbreaks and ensure comprehensive protection within the community.

Jane Knight, head of specialist services, said the van provides students with convenient access to vaccinations.

“We are prioritising community health by making the measles, mumps and rubella vaccination easily accessible,” she said.

“It’s crucial to protect against these highly contagious diseases. By visiting various campuses, we aim to reach as many people as possible.”

The mobile van service is being clinically delivered by Annie Joseph, practice nurse, with support from Mandy Curran, senior operations manager, and will run until 2 October.
